Otte Construction is licensed to perform radon testing and mitigation work in Nebraska. We specialize in the design and installation of high quality, efficient, un-obtrusive and effective radon reduction systems. We approach these projects with the same philosophy as all of our projects and strive for quality work and customer satisfaction. Most importantly, we are certified by the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services. This is your assurance that we will follow all radon mitigation protocols and install your system correctly.
The Surgeon General has warned that radon, a natural radioactive gas, is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, second only to smoking. The EPA has established an "action level" of 4 pCi / L (pico curies per liter of air) for indoor radon. If your home has a radon level of 4pCi / L or greater, action should be taken to lower the level. Although radon testing and mitigation is most often performed during a real estate transaction, the Nebraska Radon Program recommends all homes be tested for radon, as testing is the only way to know the radon level in your home. Radon testing is easy and inexpensive with do-it-yourself kits. Information regarding these kits is available on the Nebraska Department of Health and Human Services website below:
