Radon Testing & Mitigation
NEW ITEM

Otte Construction, Inc. is licensed to perform radon testing and mitigation work in Nebraska. We specialize in the design and installation of high quality, efficient, un-obtrusive and effective radon reduction systems. We approach these projects with the same philosophy as all of our projects and strive for quality work and customer satisfaction. If you have a problem that needs immediate attention, call us first! Most importantly, we are certified by the National Radon Safety Board (NSRB). NRSB is the nationally recognized certification authority for radon testing and mitigation. NEHA took over the certification duties from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA). This is your assurance that we will follow all radon mitigation protocols and install your system correctly.

Most radon testing and mitigation is often performed during a real estate transaction. When purchasing a new home, most buyers have the property tested for high levels of radon gas and insist the seller mitigate the home if the levels are beyond the recommended guideline. This is a smart move... a homeowner certainly does not want to subject his or her family to high levels of radon day after day. However, the buyer could have been living in a home for years that had high levels of radon. Why wait until you plan to move? Have your present home tested now!

The Surgeon General has warned that radon is the second leading cause of lung cancer in the United States, second only to smoking. The U.S. EPA has established an "action level" for indoor radon. It is 4 pCi / L (pico curies per liter of air). If your home has a radon level of 4pCi / L or greater fix the home. The average indoor radon level is estimated to be 1.3 pCi / L, 0.4 pCi / L is normally found in the outside air. Remember the ONLY way to know if you have a problem is to test. It is recommended that you hire a state certified and / or an EPA listed measurement company who can provide you with a quality test.
